Turquoise
Turquoise is one of the oldest ornamental stones in the world and, like lapis, it reads as an opaque field of colour rather than a point of light. Against gold, its pale sky-blue produces one of the sharpest contrasts in the Damaskos range.
The workshop sets turquoise in Athens using the same Byzantine techniques applied throughout the collection — granulation, wire borders, and bezels that shelter a stone softer than the corundums and quartzes around it.
