Blue Cameo
The blue cameo is a variation on a carving tradition that runs from Hellenistic Greece through Rome and into Byzantine ornament — a relief figure raised against a contrasting ground, here in cool blue rather than the more familiar shell tones.
At the Damaskos workshop in Athens, cameos are mounted in 18K gold with granulation and twisted wire borders that frame the carving without competing with it. Each is set by hand, and no two carvings are identical.
See blue cameo work alongside gold pendants and necklaces from the same atelier. Request a consultation to discuss a commission.
